The ‘Assumption of Mary' by Giacinto Brandi in the church of Santa Maria in Organo in Verona: a new chronology

Marco Fagiani
New documentary evidence makes it possible to determine the year of execution of the 'Assumption of Mary', which Giacinto Brandi painted for the Olivetan church of Santa Maria in Organo in Verona: around 1659. This means bringing forward significantly the date of the work, which recent studies dated to 1672, thus providing a new reference for understanding Brandi's activity in the late 1650s.
